WHAT NERD ACADEMY DOES

We slow down where it matters, then move forward with purpose.

Most schools keep pushing ahead, even when students are missing key skills. That is how small gaps turn into years of frustration.
At Nerd Academy, we do the opposite.
We start by strengthening the foundation: reading, writing, math, structure, and confidence. Once students have stronger footing, we raise the ceiling through hands-on projects, coding, AI literacy, PetroSTEAM, communication, and real-world problem solving.
This is not a school built around busywork. It is a school built around progress.
INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
LITERACY COMES FIRST

Reading changes everything.

When a child struggles to read, every subject gets harder. Math word problems, science lessons, social studies, writing assignments, instructions, tests, and even confidence all start to suffer.

That is why literacy is not treated like one subject among many at Nerd Academy. It is the foundation.

Strong readers have more options. That is the point.

WHEN A CHILD FALLS BEHIND

Gaps are not character flaws.
They are signals.

A lot of parents come to us frustrated because they know their child is capable, but something is not clicking. Maybe homework turns into a fight. Maybe reading is avoided. Maybe math facts are not sticking. Maybe confidence has started to drop.

We do not shame students for gaps. We look for the root issue.

A child should not have to spend years feeling behind before someone slows down enough to help.
HOW WE CATCH STUDENTS UP
AT NERD ACADEMY, WE WORK TO:

Identify the real gap, not just the grade-level label

Strengthen reading and comprehension step by step

Build math fluency and number sense

Rebuild confidence through visible progress

Keep parents informed with clear communication

Student-to-Teacher Cap

15

Students max per class

Small enough to notice. Structured enough to respond.
SMALL CLASSES MATTER

Kids do not magically catch up
in a room of 25.

Small classes are not a luxury at Nerd Academy. They are part of the model.

When class sizes stay small, teachers have more room to teach, observe, redirect, challenge, and respond. Problems are easier to catch. Progress is easier to monitor. Students are harder to overlook.

Class sizes are capped at 15

Students are known, not managed

Teachers can respond faster

Parents are not left guessing

Learning feels more structured and personal

BENEFITS OF SMALL CLASS SIZES
SAFETY STRUCTURE

A child who feels unsafe
cannot focus on learning.

Some students come to school anxious. Some have been bullied. Some have learned to stay quiet. Some have been labeled instead of understood. Some are simply overwhelmed by chaotic environments.
We take that seriously.
Nerd Academy is built around clear expectations, adult follow-through, and a calmer learning environment. Students are expected to treat others with respect, take ownership of behavior, and learn in a space where safety and structure are not optional.
When students feel safe, they can stop surviving the day and start participating in it.
STUDENT SAFETY & ANTI-BULLYING
THE STANDARD

Clear expectations

Adult follow-through

Calmer classrooms

Respect, not chaos

Ownership of behavior

BEYOND THE BASICS

Once the foundation is stronger,
we raise the ceiling.

Not every student comes to us because they are behind. Some come because they are bored, underchallenged, or tired of waiting for school to become interesting.

Nerd Academy gives students room to think, build, question, and connect learning to the real world.

Strong fundamentals first. Then we show students what those skills can do.

REAL PARENTS. REAL RESULTS.

Families come to Nerd Academy because something needed to change.

Some families were looking for stronger academics. Some needed a safer environment. Some needed smaller classes. Some needed adults who would listen and follow through.
The common thread is simple: parents wanted their children to be seen, supported, and challenged.

This school has beyond put my mind at ease. I love the fact that the staff are the only people that can open the doors leading outside. My mind has been out to ease with any concern I have or has been brought up. My kids are learning so much. They actually love coming to school. And I appreciate that. The school I believe in. And thats a lot.

Grateful for The Nerd Academy At his previous school, our son Santiago had stopped wanting to go. We were getting daily calls about his behavior and were told he was part of the 2% of kids who “just wouldn’t behave.” He later told us he felt mistreated and scared. We decided to withdraw him and look for a better fit. When we toured The Nerd Academy, the staff listened and assured us they focus on both emotional well-being and academics. They worked closely with us to create a plan that truly supported Santiago’s needs. It wasn’t an overnight change, but week by week, he became more confident, happier, and now loves going to school. We’d been promised support before, but The Nerd Academy is the first place that actually followed through. Their consistency, care, and genuine dedication have made all the difference. We are so thankful for the teachers and founders who helped our son rediscover his joy for learning. Highly recommend! ¡Altamente recomendados!

There is a night and day difference compared to how my kids view going to school now. With their old school last year my kids would get out the car with tears and no motivation. This year we had an incredible opportunity to attend Nerd Academy and they’re excited in the morning. They have excelled and learn real life practical things on top of the required learning. They are excited to tell me about their day and all they learned. Nerd Academy uplifts their students and really sees the kids for who they are. Thank you Nerd Academy for all you have done for my kids.

Nerd Academy has been amazing for my boys. My oldest went through a really tough time with bullying at his previous school, and it broke my heart to see him dreading school every day. Since he started at Nerd Academy, everything has changed — he’s happy, confident, and actually loves going to school now. The teachers and staff are so supportive, and the whole environment just feels safe and encouraging. I honestly couldn’t be more thankful for the difference this school has made in our lives.

It’s refreshing to see a private school in Odessa prepare students for real-world applications in a city so deeply connected to energy and engineering. As an oil and gas professional, their PetroSTEAM program really caught my attention, I’m curious to see where this goes.

SCHOOL TOURS

Come see the school
for yourself.

A website can explain the model, but a tour helps you feel the difference.

Nerd Academy tours typically take 30 to 45 minutes and are led by the founders. Families can see the classrooms, ask direct questions, talk through their child's needs, and leave with clear next steps.

We recommend bringing your child when possible, because fit matters.
SCHEDULE A TOUR
ON A TOUR, YOU CAN:

See the classrooms and learning routines

Understand how we build literacy, math, and structure

Ask questions about your child's needs

Learn about tuition and enrollment

Decide whether Nerd Academy is the right next step

FINAL STEP

Your child should not have to push through
a school that is not working.

If school has become stressful, chaotic, unsafe, too easy, too frustrating, or just not the right fit, it may be time to look at something different.

Nerd Academy was built for families who want strong academics, small classes, clear structure, parent communication, hands-on learning, and a school that takes both foundations and the future seriously.

Start with a tour. Ask the hard questions. See if this is the right fit.
